Latin Alternative Manifesto

Fusion is fatal. Fusion is fear, farce and we are freeing ourselves of it. It is the idea that we are two beings carrying two burdens that can only be validated by something else. Fusion only allows us to exist in pieces and forces us to explain our every move to an apathetic society. We are taking control of our music again. We will no longer inject foreign substance into our ears. Our declaration of principles is few, but potent:

Fusion will be removed from our artistic vernacular.
We will sing Spanish. All languages at our disposal will be used to communicate, but when our hearts sing, Spanish is to be lengua franca. We will not translate and cease marketing ourselves to a linguistically myopic society. Our numbers are massive enough for self-sufficiency.
Industry Standards + Buzz re: Technological Revolution are no longer our measuring stick. Conformity is a prevalent epidemic and we are refusing to let it infect our music by holding ourselves to standards we did not create. We are Latin and our methods are Alternative. Via this method, our confidence in human agency and our souls will reverberate.

No other music, but that of the oppressed, is faced with trying to appeal to indifferent listeners. Fusion is tearing us apart. Continuing to describe our music in fusionist terms is pathological. The vaccination is sound. Our weapons will be the music we listen to and create. Latin - children of a distinct colonial process. Alternative because we refuse to be complacent. Fusion is fatal. Latin Alternative Now.
